We are Lenovo. We do what we say. We own what we do. We WOW our customers.

Now that you’re part of the team, you have plenty of benefit options. To make the most of them, be sure to enroll within your first 30 days.

1. Sign Up for Health Benefits

The basics, to keep you feeling and looking your best.

  • Keep your body and brain in good shape with medical, mental health, and prescription drug coverage. Choose from three plans: the Lenovo Health Saver, Lenovo PPO, and Lenovo EPO plans. Live in California? You also have an HMO plan option through Kaiser.
  • Smile more with awesome dental coverage. Three plan options: Lenovo Dental Basic, Dental Plus, and Cigna DHMO.
  • Not seeing straight? Vision coverage through the VSP Choice network will keep things crystal clear.

2. Sign Up for Savings/Spending Accounts

Trust these accounts to hook you up when it comes to saving money.

Your benefits:

  • Health Care Spending Account. A special account that lets you save money (up to $2,700 for the year) to use for eligible health care expenses. It also helps you save on taxes. But plan carefully. This account is “use it or lose it.” Your unused balance will not roll over into the next year. If you join us late in the year, keep in mind that if you elect $2,700, that amount will be spread out over the remaining pay periods in the year.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA). The name says it all. A savings account just for your health care expenses. (FYI: You can’t have both a Health Care Spending Account and an HSA). You need to enroll in the Lenovo Health Saver plan and elect the HSA. Once you do that, you’ll get an email with all the details to open your HSA. DO WHAT THE EMAIL SAYS. Otherwise, you can’t contribute and save, and you won’t get Lenovo’s contributions.
  • Dependent Care Spending Account. A savings account for expenses related to dependent care (kids, elders). Contribute up to $5,000 per year ($2,500 if married and not filing jointly). Save on taxes, too.

3. Sign Up for Insurance & Other Financial Benefits

For all of life’s uncertainties.

Your benefits:

  • Employee Life Insurance = basic protection. You automatically receive basic coverage of $50,000, 1x or 2x your annual eligible comp if you’re a regular full-time or part-time employee working at least 20 hours per week.
  • Supplemental Life = additional life insurance. Choose this if you want more life insurance to protect your family. Coverage options are 1x to 6x your eligible compensation, up to $2 million. Don’t forget to name your beneficiary(ies)! Make sure you know where your money is going if something happens to you.
  • Dependent Life = life insurance for your spouse/domestic partner and children. You can elect coverage in $10,000 increments for your spouse/domestic partner, up to $200,000. And you can elect coverage in $5,000 increments for your children, up to $25,000.

Heads up! You must be enrolled in Supplemental Life coverage to elect Dependent Life coverage.

  • Disability coverage. It’s $$ for when you can’t work due to an injury or illness. Here’s the percentage of your pay that the Company-paid Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) benefits cover, depending on how long you’re away from work:
    STD and LTD timeline
  • Critical Illness Plan. Money for when life doesn’t go as planned. Covered conditions include certain cancer- and heart-related conditions, among others. Covered expenses are not limited. You’ll receive a lump-sum payment that you can use as you see fit, including for out-of-network and experimental treatments, travel to and from treatment centers, and lost income. You can enroll yourself, your spouse/domestic partner, and/or your eligible dependent(s), if you choose.
  • Hyatt Legal Plans. Legal advice for everyone in your family. Even your son with the lead foot. Tap an attorney for only $20.50 a month.
  • Commuter Benefit Program. Because commuting stinks. Put money aside for your commute—and save on taxes. Help prevent road rage.

4. Choose Contributions to the Lenovo Savings Plan [401(k)]

With the Lenovo Savings Plan [401(k)], you can:

  • Get FREE money from Lenovo. It’s like giving yourself an automatic 6% raise. Who doesn’t love that? We match $1 for every $1 you save, up to the first 6% of your eligible pay. Plus, all contributions are immediately vested (so the money is yours from Day 1).
  • Contribute on a pre-tax, Roth, or after-tax basis, up to 80% of your eligible compensation (you’re automatically enrolled at a 6% pre-tax contribution level). Now that’s saving with flexibility.
  • A wide range of investment options—target retirement date funds and passive and active options, including professional management services and a managed account option with Financial Engines—because having more flexibility is better when it comes to your retirement goals.
  • Separate Savings Plan contribution elections for base salary and bonuses.
  • Access to tools and resources through the Fidelity website.
